The Prelude hits the high notes! The Taittinger Prélude 'Grands Crus' cuvée is composed of a blend that Taittinger has selected only from the 'Grands Crus' vineyards; the best-rated vineyards in the Champagne region.
Only the first presses are used, resulting in a perfect balance between the vibrant minerality of the Chardonnay and the strength and structure of the Pinot Noir. It ages for 5 years in the cellar, and retains a marked freshness, combining refinement and complexity.
TASTING NOTES: ON THE NOSE
Straw yellow color with brilliant reflections. The sparkling process is perfect, very fine, slow and continuous salt to create a persistent crown, a sign of a long aging.
The bouquet is of great elegance and freshness, hints of fresh white flowers, citrus nuances, delicately fruity, sweet spices and a mineral finish of chalk.
TASTING NOTES: ON THE PALATE
The palate immediately recalls the sensations of citrus fruits, opening up to more mature aromas of white peach, yellow fruit, candied and pastry nuances. The finish is long and of great persistence, with a nice balanced freshness and balanced to its sapidity.
VINIFICATION AND AGING
Chardonnay 50% and Pinot Noir for the other 50%. Single vinification for each vineyard and then subsequently proceed with the assembly.
Rest on the lees for 5 years.
