The name of this cuvée refers to the ancestors of the Philipponnat family, suppliers of Louis XIV.
Light color and intense taste combine together for this fresh and elegant wine. Faithful to the style of the Maison, the cuvée Royale Réserve Rosé is characterized by the finesse of its bouquet, where the fruity aromas reveal a great complexity. In the mouth, the attack is precise and the fruit notes highlight some spicy hints. This elegant rosé, perfect as an aperitif, goes wonderfully with smoked meats and fish, cold cuts and red fruit desserts.
TASTING NOTES: ON THE NOSE
Salmon pink color with coppery reflections.
The nose is fine and elegant with hints of small red fruits, notes of cherries and wild strawberries. Later, citrus and grapefruit peel notes appear.
TASTING NOTES: ON THE PALATE
On the palate it is elegant and direct. This Champagne gives every sip a range of aromas where the red fruit takes on clear contours, also supported by a pleasant freshness.
VINIFICATION AND AGING
75% Pinot Nero, 20% Chardonnay, 5% Pinot Meunier.
First pressing of the grapes in the heart of Champagne, essentially Grands and Premiers Crus. Reserve wines are incorporated (from 25 to 30% of the blend) managed in solera and aged in wood without losing freshness.
Traditional vinification, which avoids premature oxidation. Performs fermentation malolactic with a passage in cask of a part of the wines, to allow the aromas ofacquire greater complexity.
Pinot Noir from Mareuil-sur-Ay and Riceys is obtained by maceration and incorporated for 7 - 8%, thus obtaining a rosé with a delicate color, a fruity and decisive taste.
